New Country Fashion

My 'New Country' Style
I love to dress up and I love to put together outfits.  I grew up with a Mum who never left the house without her hair perfect, her lipstick on and looking gorgeous in some well thought out outfit.  So I come by it honestly. I don't think I do it for the same reasons or in the same way or even every day but I would never go out of the house in sweats and no makeup.  Click on the "read more' below.

In the city, this was easy. I usually wore a suit to work and wore something a little more fun and trendy on the weekends.  But then I moved to the country, and to a small town and I was no longer in the corporate world or in the city. I actually walk 10 ft. down the hallway to my office so office attire is pyjamas whenever I don't have to deliver the kids to school. Unfortunately the neighbour usually catches me like this when he comes round to have a chat and coffee with the hubby. However, I digress...

My challenge since leaving the big smoke has been to find a style that works while I'm picking eggs out of the chicken coop, picking up kids from school, doing errands or standing in a sea of Mums on the playground.  I usually don't do the sweats and sneakers look unless of course I'm actually going to work out, but that doesn't happen very often.  (I need to change that) Now when I say "dressed up" I don't mean dresses and heels.  I just mean something that makes me look put together and somewhat fashionable.

I haven't got it figured out quite yet.  I still get bugged on the playground by my friends who ask me where I'm going all dressed up.  (check photo) Seriously!  I really don't think I'm all that dressed up.  I guess you just can't take the city out of the city girl. Although I could certainly wear this in the city, I still think it works for my country, small town lifestyle.  What do you think?  I know, the shoes are totally impractical for traipsing through chicken poop.  However, I refuse to give up cute shoes!
