Before I moved to this rock in the middle of the ocean, I had never been to a country fair. City amusement parks with rides galore...yes. Country fair's with more rams than rides...no! I don't see the appeal of barn animals, tractor pulls and logging demonstrations - unless the loggers provide some eye candy of course.
Which they weren't on Sunday. And it was drizzling and I was cold and we were sitting on benches that were rock hard. But whose complaining.
These events are what have drawn my boys (including the big one) and dragged me to the country fair every year for the past 4 years. It's now become a tradition. It's not fall unless we've gone to the fall fair and taken in the sites. My hubby relives his "would have liked to be a farmer" (now he just has farmer friends) day dreams and tries to get the boys just as excited. I'm just hoping the boys grow out of this desire to go to the fair and we can take a nice trip off the rock and over to the big city and they can go on real rides because of course I'd rather do that. Or maybe I can just sneak off for a little while, let them have their fun and I can ride the roller coaster of retail therapy. Sounds good to me. Retail or roller coasters which would you choose?
