1. I don't appreciate half dead rabbits in the house or dead deer stinking up the property.
3. I don't like that it takes 5 minutes to get off my street. It seems rather a long time when it only takes 5 minutes to get into town. It should be relative - 2 minutes to get off your street and 20 minutes to get to town. At least that's what it was like in the city but more like 2 mins vs. 1 hour.
4. Sometimes, it's not convenient to know too many people in a small town. It can get you into trouble very easily.
5. There are too many snakes, spiders, ants, wasps, bears and cougars for my liking. Notice I didn't mention bees. I don't mind bees, they are busy little insects and I respect their work ethic.
6. While on the topic of spiders, I don't like that they take up house in my home and drop from the ceiling when I'm having a shower.
7. I don't like the cat bringing me dead mice or dead birds.
8. I don't like the fact that I may end up with chickens in my yard although Brian's slow methodical brainwashing is working away at me in that regard. Fresh eggs would be kind of cool....I think.
9. And last but not least...I have a love hate relationship with weeds that I never had in the city. Of course, in the city I didn't have much or any yard for that matter. I like weeding, it feels like 'me versus the weeds' but there are way too many of the pests and I'm constantly losing the battle.
I love this.... Some country living ... my friend!! Mind you... when I was growing up, I lived at the edge of town where my neighbour had a small family of chicks/hens/roosters on his tiny yard. I remember in the mornings of those long summer months when I don't have to get up early to go to school, I pray to god that those damn rooster will have a sudden heart attack! - Karen
