Food Snob!

Who knew that one of the side effects of growing your own food is that you become a food snob. It makes perfect sense but when I first experienced it, the effect took me completely by surprise. My world shifted slightly.

I was visiting Vancouver recently and was enjoying great food but poor service at Chill Winstons in Gastown. The menu was great and having eaten way too much for breakfast I decided a nice light salad would be the best idea. I would normally have ordered the spinach, strawberry and feta salad without a thought but then...and here comes the life altering moment...I realized that the strawberries would never be as good as the ones I pick fresh from my garden every afternoon after they have been warmed and sweetened by the sun. And so, I just couldn't do it. I couldn't order something I always order.

Edemame (soya beans) are never going to be the same either. We planted those this year and boy are they tasty and sweet. They are by far much better than the ones you get at the sushi restaurant. What am I going to do. Maybe this will make decision making a lot easier when it comes to eating out. As a Libra I'm a terrible decision maker when faced with a daunting menu. Oh well, there's always MacDonalds none of their food is real anyway!
